ANNOUNCEMENT
AFTER PRESS CONFERENCE
HELD AT THE SEAT OF THE NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION (NEC) IN WARSAW
On 9 October 2005, at 6.10 p.m. at the seat of
the National Electoral Commission at ul. Wiejska a
press conference was held concerning the Elections for the President of the Republic of Poland.

The conference was chaired by the NEC Chairman,
Judge Ferdynand Rymarz, who presented information on the election turnout and
the course of the vote as at 4.30 p.m.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION

Concerning
the number of persons registered on electoral lists and the number of electors
who received ballot cards by 16.30 p.m.
in the Elections for the President of the
Republic of
Poland
written for 9 October 2005.
I. Countrywide statistical
information
According to the information received from 24 998 out of the total 25 000 local electoral commissions
established countrywide (excluding
the polling stations established abroad and on the Polish ships at sea), the National Electoral Commission
annouces that as at 4.30 p.m. on 9 October 2005:
1. The number of eligible voters, i.e. the
number of electors registered on the elector lists at the polling stations
which provided the data was 30 138 437.
2. 10
422 745 ballot cards were issued to the eligible voters which
constitutes 34.58% of the total
number of the eligible voters.

IV. In comparison with the total
number of the eligible voters, the highest turnout was noted in the Godziszów administrative
district, lubelskie province, i.e. 54.81%

course of the elections.
