ANNOUNCEMENT AFTER THE CONFERENCE OF THE NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION (NEC) HELD ON 25 September 2005 at 10 a.m. AT THE SEAT OF NEC.

On 25 September at 10 a.m., at the seat of the National Electoral Commission, the first press conference on the Election Day for the Parliament and the Senate of the Republic of Poland was held.

The following participated in the conference:

Over 25 thousand electoral commissions commenced their work at 6 a.m. The polling stations will be open until 8 p.m. Until now, the there were no major incidents which could disturb the elections were noted in the course of the voting.
The Deputy Chairman of NEC informed the journalists that in the constituency no. 27 in Częstochowa, the ballot cards for the Senate include full names of the candidates without the electoral committee putting forward the candidate being specified. Depending on the actual situation being established, it may be necessary to suspend the vote and print new ballot cards. Due to death, two candidates were deleted from the elector lists. The respective electoral commissions will advise the voters of these facts.
