ANNOUNCEMENT AFTER THE PRESS CONFERENCE OF THE NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION (NEC) HELD ON 23 SEPTEMBER 2005 AT 12.00 AT THE SEAT OF THE NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION.

On 23 September 2005 at 12.00, a press conference was held at the seat of the National Electoral Commission concerning the elections for the Parliament and Senate of the Republic of Poland.

and the Deputy Director of the Legal Department and Organization of the Elections at the National Electoral Office, Romuald Drapiński.

The Chairman of NEC said that the organizational work related to election has been completed and the election calendar has been fulfilled in full extent
The voting shall be held at the polling stations from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The pre-election silence shall prevail from Friday midnight through 8 p.m. on a Sunday evening. During the pre-election silence, an absolute ban on electoral agitation and publishing of the pre-election polls related to the Parliamentary elections shall prevail.
Judge Ferdynand Rymarz informed of the course of work of NEC on the election day.
The first conference on the election day will be held at the seat of NEC 10 a.m. and will be devoted to the course of the vote.

The subsequent conferences will be held in the following order:
at 12 p.m. – on the election attendance and the course of voting – the situation as at 10.30 a.m.
at 6 p.m. – on the election attendance and the course of voting – the situation as at 4.30 p.m.
at 8 p.m. – on the course of the voting.

On the night of 25 and 26 September 2005, NEC expects that provision of unofficial partial results of the vote will be possible. Provision of information is planned as the reports drawn up by the electoral commissions from 10%, 30% , 60% and 90% of the constituencies are provided to the seat of NEC.
The official results of the elections for the Polish Parliament may be expected on Tuesday or Wednesday after all reports from the regional electoral commissions have been received.

Minister Kazimierz Wojciech Czaplicki, Head of the National Electoral Office presented statistical data concerning the elections, electoral committees and candidates In the elections to the Parliament and the Senate of the republic of Poland.
